Tokens vs private: two ways to pay, pick one on purpose
Live cams bill in two common ways. Tokens: you buy chips, you tip in public, you spend chips per minute if you take a private. Pay-per-minute: the lobby is free, the private is a dollar clock. Mixing them in your head is how you feel cheated when the site did what it said.
We operate both. 1stcams.com is our token grid. mostcams.com is our pay-per-minute lobby. Not the official Stripchat, Chaturbate, or Streamate sites. This page exists so you stop clicking the wrong door because an ad used the other word.
The token model
Public rooms are free to watch. That is real. Chat is public. Tips are chips. A private is still a private, but you pay in tokens at a rate the performer set — often 20–90 tokens a minute, more if exclusive. Packs are cheaper per chip as they get larger, and easier to drain because “40 tokens” does not feel like four dollars. Details and pack ranges: cam token prices.
Tokens win when you want to browse. Ten rooms in twenty minutes, a small tip here, a menu item there, maybe one short private. You will have leftover chips. Leftover chips are why the model prints money and why you might hate it. If leftover balances make you reckless, do not buy a 1,000-token pack to “save” 2¢ each.
The pay-per-minute model
Lobby is free. Private is dollars per minute, often about $2–$7, exclusive higher. Your statement shows time, not a toy currency. You are not hopping a public orgy of tip menus; you are choosing one person and starting a clock. Cost math: private show cost.
PPM wins when you already know you want 1:1. It loses when you wanted to channel-surf for an hour. Sitting in a lobby doing nothing is free; sitting in a private because you were bored is the expensive version of boredom. Stop clicking. That is the skill.
Same show, different receipt
A ten-minute 1:1 is a ten-minute 1:1. On tokens you might have spent $8 saying hello in public and $35 on the private. On PPM you might have spent $0 in the lobby and $40 on the private. Neither is a scam when the rates were visible. One of them matches how you behave. That is the only comparison that matters. We will not give the token site a 9.6 and the PPM site a 9.1. Those numbers are decoration.
Spying, exclusive, and “she went private and the public feed died” exist on both kinds of network in different clothes. If the public feed dies, someone paid. If you want the room to yourself, you pay exclusive (or the local name for that). If you do not want to pay, you watch public token rooms and you accept the peanut gallery.
A blunt picker
- You want free video and optional tips → tokens (1stcams).
- You want to try three performers tonight without a clock → tokens.
- You want one 1:1 and a clean dollar bill → pay-per-minute (mostcams).
- You hate leftover balances → pay-per-minute.
- You came from a “free tokens” ad → do not buy the story. Buy a small pack or skip to PPM.
- You want a recording of someone else’s show → leave. We do not do that.
If you are still split: open the token grid first, watch public for ten minutes, and notice whether you are reaching for a private. If you are, and you already know who, PPM would have been cheaper on friction. If you never reached for a private, tokens already did the job at $0–$20.
What we will not say
We will not say either door “guarantees” a better time. We will not say performers earn a promised income if they join a site — this page is for customers. We will not link Chaturbate white labels. We will not call ourselves the official anything. Two CTAs below, because this is the comparison page and both doors are ours.
We operate 1stcams.com (token rooms) and mostcams.com (private shows). Not the official Stripchat, Chaturbate, or Streamate sites.
